Drug/Alcohol Abuse Prevention Program

The Seminary offers a drug/alcohol abuse prevention program in order to qualify as an institution able to grant Government Student Loans to U.S. students. MBBS must comply with the Clery Act and the Higher Education Act. We affirm not only the need to comply with the legislation, but also our desire to model a wholesome lifestyle called for by our commitment to God. The unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensing, possession or use of a controlled substance on our property or as part of any of our activities is prohibited.

Regarding Legal Consequences of Unlawful Possession or Distribution of Controlled Substances

MB Biblical Seminary supports all local, state, and federal laws relating to use of controlled substances. State and Federal penalties apply to anyone convicted of the manufacture, distribution, dispensation, possession or use of controlled substances. Misdemeanor convictions for drug use can result in a fine and incarceration of up to a year in a County jail. Relatively few drug-related infractions may be considered misdemeanor offenses, however. Most drug use convictions are defined as felony acts. Felony convictions for drug use can result in a substantial fine and a lengthy jail sentence in a state prison. Convictions for manufacture, possession for sale or use of substances such as the following examples are felony offenses: amphetamines, barbiturates, codeine, cocaine/crack, heroin, L.S.D., methamphetamine, marijuana, P.C.P., and Quaaludes.
