Eligibility for Financial Aid
All students taking courses for credit are eligible to apply for financial aid. In cases where both a husband and wife are pursuing a degree program, individual financial aid applications should be submitted. Unclassified students are not eligible for scholarships, grants, or loans but will receive any bursaries for which they qualify.
Applications for financial aid should be submitted annually. Completed applications are due in the Financial Aid Office by May 1 for Fall applicants and returning students, or October 15 for Spring applicants. Applications received after due dates and applications for financial emergencies will be considered on a case by case basis.
Students may qualify for financial aid using the following criteria:
- A minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 for returning students.
- Demonstration of financial need.
- For incoming students, submission of a financial aid application and application for admission by May 1 preceding enrollment.
Financial aid will be awarded by the Financial Aid Committee subject to available funds. Priority is given to full-time students.
Students should plan to use a substantial portion of their savings to pay the costs of Seminary training. Higher priority in awarding of grants will be given to students with fewer resources. Home equity or investments will not result in decreased financial aid eligibility.
